Momentum doesn’t have to be fast, perfect or hard

We often think momentum has to look a certain way.

Moving quickly. Having a plan. Pushing through.

But over the last few days I’ve found myself wondering whether we’ve been giving momentum far too much to live up to.

Perhaps it doesn’t need to be fast. Perhaps it doesn’t need to be perfect. Perhaps it doesn’t even need to be hard.

Sometimes gentle momentum is simply noticing the next thing that feels possible and thinking, “I’ll just do this next.”

It’s amazing how often one small step becomes another, not because we’ve forced ourselves, but because we’ve stopped carrying quite so much pressure.

That idea is what led me to create Bring Your To-Do List. It’s a half-day online where we each bring whatever is waiting for us, spend a few hours getting things done together, and see what becomes possible when there’s a little less pressure and a little more company.

If that sounds like something you’d like to explore for yourself, click here for more details.
