Bring Your To-Do List

A half-day of getting things done, gentle momentum and good company.

There are probably things on your to-do list that you would genuinely love to have done.

Not necessarily because the tasks themselves are exciting. But because you would love the relief of finally sending the email, sorting the paperwork, making progress on the idea or dealing with the thing that has been quietly taking up space in your head.

You may even know exactly what you need to do.

You just haven’t quite managed to get yourself moving.

A few hours to get things moving

Bring Your To-Do List is a half-day on Zoom where we get things done together, without turning the time into another exercise in pressure, performance or proving how productive we can be.

At the beginning of each hour, we’ll gather briefly and you’ll choose what you’d like to start with.

Not what you should do first.

Not necessarily the most urgent, sensible or impressive thing on your list.

Just the thing you’d like to begin with now.

Then we’ll head off and get on with it.

You can leave Zoom, stay quietly connected or work in whatever way suits you. At the beginning of the next hour, we’ll come back together, see how it went and choose what we’d like to move next.

Perhaps you’ll return having finished exactly what you intended.

Perhaps you’ll have made a small dent in it.

Perhaps the hour will disappear and absolutely none of it will happen.

That is allowed too.

There will be no shame, awkward accountability or need to explain yourself. Just a little cheering on, some cheerful commiseration when required and another opportunity to begin again.

People, not just lists

Everyone will be invited to share briefly during our hourly check-ins, so numbers are limited to keep those moments manageable and leave room for every voice.

The limit isn’t there to manufacture scarcity. It’s simply what makes the format work and allows there to be space for people, not just their lists.

I won’t be sitting on the sidelines watching everyone else work. I’ll be in it with you, making my own way through my to-do list and discovering what happens as the afternoon unfolds.

A little help before we begin

Beforehand, I’ll send you a simple document with space to empty out all the to-do items currently floating around your head.

It’s there to help clear a little headspace and give you somewhere to collect things. It’s entirely optional.

And if you notice yourself looking at it and deciding you must now complete every single thing on it, stop it.

It’s a tool to support you, not a new and beautifully formatted way to put pressure on yourself.

What might happen?

This is an experiment in what can happen when we bring together a little structure, some good company and the freedom to keep choosing our next step.

You might get more done than you expected.

You might notice that the things you’ve been avoiding feel easier with other people alongside you.

You might simply enjoy having a few hours where you don’t have to generate all the momentum by yourself.

And perhaps you’ll discover that getting things done doesn’t always have to feel like a hard grind.

Upcoming dates

Watch this space! The next dates will be announced soon

Places are limited because the hourly check-ins are part of what makes this work.

Come for the whole half-day, or join for the hours that work for you.

Bring the list.

Bring the half-finished things, the slightly boring things and the things you keep moving to tomorrow.

We’ll see what happens when we meet them with a little less pressure and a little more company.
