Longer-Term Coaching

Sometimes something needs more than one conversation.

You may know that something needs to change without knowing exactly what that change looks like yet. Perhaps you’re at a point in your life where you’re questioning things, perhaps something that used to work no longer does, or perhaps there’s something you keep coming back to. You might simply have a feeling that you’re ready for something different, without being quite sure what that means yet.

You don’t have to arrive with a clear goal, and you don’t have to know how long it will take. Sometimes it helps to have somewhere you can return to, with someone who will listen, stay curious with you and give you space to see what’s here.

A space to come back to

Longer-term coaching gives us the opportunity to have a series of conversations over time. We might explore something that’s been on your mind, leave it for a while, come back to it from a different place and notice what’s changed, or what hasn’t.

Something that seemed important one week might look quite different a month later. You might find yourself seeing something you hadn’t seen before, or discover that what you thought you wanted isn’t quite what you want anymore. There’s room for all of that.

There’s no need to keep producing progress simply because we’ve scheduled another conversation. The value isn’t necessarily in having something new to report each time we meet, but in having somewhere to come back to as life unfolds.

There isn’t a programme to complete

This isn’t a fixed course with a beginning, middle and end. There are no modules to work through and no particular version of yourself you’re expected to arrive at.

We’ll meet what’s here. Sometimes there will be something specific you want to talk about, and sometimes you may have no idea what you want to bring. The conversation can begin wherever you are, and over time you may find that things begin to shift in ways you couldn’t have planned for at the beginning.

How it works

We’ll agree a rhythm that gives you enough continuity without creating another thing you have to manage. Conversations are held online, giving you a private space to talk, think aloud and explore whatever feels important at the time.

The length and frequency of our work together can be shaped around what makes sense for you. This isn’t about committing to a programme before you know whether it’s right for you. We can start with a conversation and see what’s here.

This might be for you if…

You know something needs to change, but don’t want to rush towards deciding what. You’re going through a period of change and would value somewhere to think things through, or perhaps you’ve been carrying something for a while and would like space to explore it over time.

You might want to understand yourself a little differently rather than simply find another strategy for dealing with things. Or perhaps you don’t have a neat reason at all; you just have a sense that you’d like someone alongside you for a while.

You don’t have to know where you’re going

That’s rather the point. You don’t have to arrive with a destination mapped out.

We can start with what’s here and see what unfolds. Perhaps you’ll discover that the change you thought you needed isn’t quite the change that matters. Perhaps something becomes clearer, perhaps you simply begin to meet things differently.

There’s time for that.

If you’re wondering whether longer-term coaching might be right for you, get in touch.

We can have a conversation about what’s bringing you here, what you’re hoping for and whether working together over time feels like the right fit.
